"God LOVES you and the ones you LOVE!"

 

This is the message of SoCalLutherans. Christian faith is a gift of love- not hatred, joy- not dread, hope- not defeat. God is love! (1 John 4:8) 

 

If you are not familiar with Lutheran Christians, it is important that we communicate that we are not part of the “religious right.”  We believe God reaches out to us to bring us into relationship with God.  God’s grace is a free gift to all people.  All people, including the beloved children of God who are gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex, asexual, queer, questioning. 

 

LGBTQIA+ Welcoming churches in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America are invited to join a national organization called Reconciling Works and their congregation can be certified as "Reconciling in Christ."  What this means is these churches wish to be reconcilied to those LGBTQIA+ people who have been hurt by or excluded from church in the past. We believe we are all members of God’s family.

 

SoCalLutherans is the Southern California and Hawaii chapter of Reconciling Works. By organizing regionally we can more effectively help provide resources and connections to individuals or families in the area.
